Art Build
My original prototype received much feedback, and movements were given positive feedback because they were similar to old-run games that are satisfying to maneuver through. My art was really bland and barely there in my prototype. I only had very simplistic gray walls and a fundamental water asset I had exported from a previous project. I was told that my world-building and art would make my game unique and even more satisfying. Below, I will show my game as of now and some art ideas I would like to use.
To enhance my design and create a more art-filled world, I will use pixel art just like how my character was made. As you can see my art inspiration for my character was also space-themed. I wanted the player to also follow a space theme so I made him a small alien-looking character who would also go well with my map and mechanics.
I plan on making my map space-themed. I will have space-related objects and colors that flow with my game. I found it troubling trying to add water and lava. I picked these resources because they are basic and found in a space-themed game like this. To incorporate these features in my game and match my art style I find being difficult. Below I will give an image of my background inspiration for my game.
Lastly, my game art contributes to my game in all ways. The gravity of the movements correlates directly with my space theme. My character is an alien itself so it also contributed to my game. Also, my assets and related traps will have a trap mesh and theme throughout the game. I would also like to highlight that the objective of the game is to reach the blackhole at the end to get back home.
